Juemei (Jamie) Yang, Founder, PhD

Jamie has more than 10 years of experience providing counseling therapy in university counseling centers, group practice, and private practice settings. She is a fully licensed psychologist in the State of Michigan and completed her doctorate in counseling psychology.  She is often sought out by clients for her warm presence and steady support. She is bilingual and can provide services in English and Mandarin.

 

Whether you are going through profound hardship or seeking personal growth to take your life to the next level, Jamie is passionate about helping clients navigate life's challenges and find a path forward. Her areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, cross-cultural experience, adolescence psychology, relationship issues, GLBTQ issues, challenges for international students and scholars, perfectionism, multicultural issues, and trauma. 

 

Jamie's approach to therapy is integrative, with a primary emphasis on multicultural perspectives and mindfulness acceptance. She supports clients in recognizing what they do and do not have control over and collaboratively works with them in changing what they can control, as well as accepting and letting go of the rest. She also works with clients in recognizing values or what is most important to clients and refining behaviors so they become more consistent with our values. Jamie integrates tools like self-compassion and solution-focus to help client unleash their inner strengths and wisdom and more authentically live out their potential. She helps clients navigate difficult relationships, achieve personal goals, and attain holistic well-being using therapeutic frameworks, including Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT).
